Top 10 Recap:
Courtesy of social media’s #ThrowbackThursday and #FlashbackFriday campaigns,
June was a month that saw older movie reviews receive a new lease on life. With
the sequels to ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘Now You See Me’ releasing on the
same weekend, both reviews were re-released on Twitter
and Google+;
‘The Conjuring’ edging out ‘Now You See Me’ for a slightly larger audience. ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ held
on for a second consecutive appearance on the most-read list, having made its
published debut towards the end of May.
In anticipation of the July 4th weekend, the list of Netflix’s Top 5 TV Shows currently available to stream promoted, taking the #6 spot. Thanks in large part to fans of ‘The Borgias’, the movie review for ‘Rabid Dogs’ starring one of the Showtime series’ lead actors, Francois Arnaud, found a hefty reception among readers with a #5 finish.

Links to my content on HiddenRemote.com settled in at the
middle of the pack. Hidden Remote link features will be a new recurring feature
on Eclectic Pop and along with supplying links to my work over there, there
will be a little commentary on how certain features came to be etc. Consider it
a making-of. May’s Most-Read wrap-up came in
third place, while the TV Rundown spotlighting ‘Reign’
came in second.
For the third consecutive month, the Entertainment Inquiry feature landed in the Top 3. The ranking entry (#4) cast a spotlight on the release of the movie ‘A Bigger Splash’ and included suggestions for a good mini-series to watch and Netflix’s best offerings.
Content Notes for the Remainder of July:
- There is still a lot to look forward to here on Eclectic Pop in July. A brand new edition of the Entertainment Inquiry (#6) will focus on reaction to the recently announced Emmy nominations, the latest season of ‘Game of Thrones’ and the best bets on Netflix.

- Speaking of ‘Game of Thrones’; look for a Hidden Remote link feature to all of my Thrones-related content. It is coming as quickly as winter.
- The re-launch of the Quick Hit Movie Review feature will continue with a new installment set to premiere, within the next week. The movies featured will be ‘The Face of an Angel’, ‘Nightcrawler’ and ‘Honeymoon’. They are all currently streaming on Netflix.
- Stay tuned to Eclectic Pop’s Twitter and Google+ accounts because every week, an older movie review is posted on Thursday and Fridays with the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday or #FlashbackFriday. The movies selected are normally in tune with an upcoming release, it shares a similarity to. Whether it is the same leading actor, thematic premise or being the original to a newly released sequel. Throwback links might also include a newly published review of an older movie.
