Top 10 Recap: Movie reviews captivated the vast amount of readers' attention in October. Without any recent promotion, the review for the Christmas horror flick “Krampus” claimed the #10 spot. Halloween and the impending kickoff of the holiday season could explain the renewed interest.
When “Krampus” was originally released and the review posted, reader interest in the 2015 film was not particularly strong. Throughout the year, it has continued to steadily put up numbers. Is this is a sign of a cult film in the making?
Similarly “White Bird in a Blizzard” received no promotion and it continued gaining interest. After claiming the #1 spot, 2 months ago, the review for the Shailene Woodley starrer returned to the list with a #8 finish.
Halloween and special interest pieces failed to gain much traction over October, despite considerable promotion.
Eclectic Pop’s list of Scary Movies, which was originally published back in October of 2013, was the only Halloween-themed post to make it into the Top 10 and it barely made it, clinging to the #9 spot.

The review for the French film “Disorder” claimed a #7 finish. Its overall viewership was a little over a third of what Eclectic Pop’s feature on the movie had generated.
From the #6 spot on, new content dominated the field. The new Netflix feature made a strong debut, producing numbers that will propel it to a recurring spot. The Top 10 recaps also continued to prove rather popular (hence why you are reading this one).
In the end, reviews for recent 2016 releases: “The Conjuring 2”, “Demolition” and “The Girl on the Train” proved to be no match for the fantastic romantic drama, “Testament of Youth”.

-70% of October’s Top 10 list was comprised of movie reviews.
-None of the posts that landed on September’s Top 10 made it onto October’s.
-The review for “Testament of Youth” earned as many views in 1 day, as “The Girl on the Train” did in its entire first week.
On a side note, “Testament of Youth” would have made Eclectic Pop’s Best of 2015 Movies list, had I seen it last year. Regardless of its release date, it is easily the best movie I have watched so far this year.
