If you want to see Rudy Ramos again before he returns to “Yellowstone” for Season 4, you are in for a treat. Ramos’ one-man show “Geronimo, Life on the Reservation” has received a huge honor. Whitefire Theatre has chosen it as one of the “Best of the Best” from its 2020 Solofest.
Rudy Ramos performed “Geronimo” as part of Solofest (a festival that showcases solo performances) on August 29, 2020. Due to receiving that honor, the initial live stream will be available to see again on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. ET. You can purchase tickets here.
“Geronimo, Life on the Reservation” follows the legendary historical figure, Geronimo, as the iconic Apache leader shares the rarely shared details of his life story. Rudy Ramos’ stirringly conveyed performance ushers the audience through various chapters of Geronimo’s life, including his time as a POW on the Fort Still Indian Reservation.
For history buffs and those generally interested in taking a deep dive into its historical corners, “Geronimo” is undoubtedly a must-see show. Whether you are unfamiliar or familiar with “Yellowstone”, prospective viewers should find watching “Geronimo” insightful and educational. Having the honor to watch Rudy Ramos’ rendering of “Geronimo” at Solofest 2020 via the live stream was a powerful experience that continues to stick with me.
Likewise, Ramos’ performance as Geronimo will stay with you long after you have witnessed it. Few actors can command the attention of viewers, let alone shoulder an entire script by themselves. Ramos has that unique skill, and he leverages it to tell the sweeping story of Geronimo, transmitting it through a rich dialogue that transports the audience, and proves spellbinding.
Last summer, Rudy Ramos discussed “Geronimo” and his role on “Yellowstone” with Eclectic Pop. As previously mentioned, the fan-favorite actor will be reprising his “Yellowstone” role as Monica Dutton’s grandfather, Felix Long, in Season 4, per Ramos’ Facebook announcement back in October 2020. This fan cannot wait to see what wisdom Felix will share with his family members on the modern-day Western.
As for “Geronimo,” fans are about to get another chance to see the actor in action in the title role. Ahead of performing “Geronimo, Life on the Reservation” at Solofest 2020, Rudy Ramos was kind enough to answer some questions regarding the one-man show. Asked if there were only one thing that he hoped people took away from it, what he hoped it would be, Rudy Ramos told Eclectic Pop:
The one and only reason for me doing my Geronimo show was to make people aware of a seldom told story. The last 23 years of Geronimo’s life was as a POW in his own country. That was not the deal he agreed to. Also to tell his side of the story of why he fought so hard and long against two nations US and Mexico. It was for his family, his land and his people. This is his story and I am honored to be the one to tell the story.
Audiences are about to get honored with an encore of Rudy Ramos’ riveting one-man show. Again, “Geronimo, Life on the Reservation” will stream on Thursday, February 4 at 7 p.m. PT. You can watch Ramos as Felix Long in “Yellowstone” by streaming the hit series on NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock. Season 4 premieres this summer on the Paramount Network.
