Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex / Netflix |
Whether you can or cannot wait, the remaining episodes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries are almost here. So far, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not given much away in the highly anticipated and heavily bandied-about series, “Harry and Meghan.” Netflix is betting that your curiosity is piqued, and despite what the comments section of YouTube suggests, that bet will pay off.
Everyone is already talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and they have not even finished saying their piece. Buzz surrounding the high-profile couple is what they and the public are used to by now. Following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the world watched and waited to see how the Cambridges and the Sussexes would handle the fallout. And so, it continues with the Netflix docuseries.
In the trailer, King Charles’ son and daughter-in-law begin unraveling “Megxit.” In the trailer for Volume 2, Harry claims that “lies” were told to protect his brother, Prince William, while the truth was not exposed to protect Harry and Meghan. Hear it for yourself below:
Much of what you hear in the trailer for “Harry and Meghan” Volume 2 sounds like familiar territory from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. People will remember that the royal couple got a lot off their chests during their exclusive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. The riveting interview sent off shockwaves across the world. “Have you been silent? Or silenced?” Winfrey famously asked.
For their part, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not remained silent since the interview. They have continued to speak out. No matter what they have said, it has stirred up a conversation, and you can bet that people will have a lot to discuss after “Harry and Meghan” Volume 2 begins streaming on Netflix.
Now that Prince Harry’s father is the King of the United Kingdom, the stakes are higher than ever. Simply put, what is said in this docuseries matters because King Charles III can do something about it. He is no longer theoretically beholden to his mother’s wishes. Or her crown. Perhaps that is why there is more of a heaviness to Prince Harry’s countenance this time around.
People will have a vested interest see how far they are willing to go to tell their story. Will they say something there is no coming back from and get themselves forever banned from royal life? It is a drama that plays with the tenor of a reality series, the class of a docuseries, and the posh prestige of royal intrigue.
I have to admit that I will be glued to my TV. How about you? The first episodes did not tell the world anything they did not already know. It is up to the final volume to do what they did not. It is a rarity for Netflix to split up a series like this. They are the forerunner of binge-watching, so what does Netflix holding back the second part mean?
It could mean they are holding the most controversial content for last. At least, they are giving the appearance there is some there. Perhaps, the world will get to the end of this and have heard two married parents of young children tell their love story—the rough part of having to meld their lives together. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will let us know soon.
The second volume of “Harry and Meghan” comprises three episodes and premieres on Thursday, December 15, on Netflix.
